Osmák kamarádem
Ochočení osmáka není jen tak,lehký proces a vyžaduje čas i trpělivost.
K ochočení osmáka,vedou "tři cesty"..
Po tom co si osmáka/y přinesete domů a dáte je do ubikace, neměli byste se snažit na ně sahat tak 5–6 dní, než si zvyknou na nové prostředí. Prozatím si sedněte k nim a mluvte na ně. Povídejte cokoli. Je to jedno. (Já jim četla pohádku :DD ) Je dobré často opakovat osmákovo jméno, dobře si tak na ně zvykne.
Druhou fází je, že do ubikace položíte ruku a necháte osmáky, aby sami přišli (přijdou vždycky – jsou velmi zvědavý). Začnou ruku očichávat a trošku kousat. Hlavně neucukněte a pořád na ně mluvte klidným hlasem na který by měli být zvyklí. Také se můžete pokusit na ně sáhnout nebo je podrbat. A mějte na paměti, že násilím situaci jen zhoršíte.
Třetí fáze je podobná druhé, s tím rozdílem že ruku dáte tak, aby do ní mohli vlézt a dáte na ní něco co jim chutná a počkáte až přijde. Jídlo si vezme a odběhne ho zbaštit. Takle to opakujte třeba 5× denně, přibližně týden a potom můžete zkusit osmáka vzít do ruky, nebo ho samotného nechat vlézt na ruku (obvykle se to povede).
Berte na vědomí. Neberte osmáčka zezhora. V přirozeném prostředí na ně,dravec útočí zezhora,proto by si mohl "myslet" že je v ohrožení. Osmáka neberte ani zezadu.Vyčkejte,až si vleze sám na vaší ruku..
Jak osmáka vycvičit, aby přiběhl na zavolání
Nácvik přiběhnutí na zavolání je dobré spojit s ochočováním, pak je větší šance, že se to povede. Tato část je relativně jednoduchá. Spočívá v tom, že při odměňování osmáka (pamlsky..) říkáte jeho jméno. Ten si ho spojí s jídlem a tím, že má přijít. Někteří osmáci to pochopí, jiní ne. Nezbývá, než to zkusit.
"Pán skupiny"
Osmáci žijí v přírodě v přirozených skupinách, kterým vládne nejsilnější jedinec, který si svoje místo ve smečce vybojoval. I v domácím chovu se takový vůdce vyskytuje, nad ním byste měli být stále Vy. Což znamená že je občas prostě nutné (třeba když se začnou rvát) na ně trochu silněji hrábnout a v rámci ůnosnosti jim vysvětlit, že tohle se nedělá. Většinou stačí osmáka přimáčknout něžně a přece silně k podlaze (rukou!), aby pochopil.
Pokud ale mezi osmáky zasáhnete v nepravý okamžik (když to nebude jenom rvačka o žrádlo ale třeba o postavení ve smečce), můžete jednoduše přijít i ke krvavému šrámu. Dost často to nejde rozeznat, takže tady platí staré přísloví „Dvakrát měř a jednou řež.“ a to doslova.
Zasáhnout je ideální v případě je-li rvačka očividně zbytečná (o to kdo se nažere první, kdo se bude točit v kolotoči …), ale pokud je to rvačka která má opodstatnění, tak je lepší nezasahovat!
